The JHI and UCLan hosted the STFC Advanced Summer School - The High Resolution Sun: Theory and Observations, bringing together PhD students and yound PDRAs from around the UK.

Hunting for the Dark: The Hidden Side of Galaxy Formation (19-23 October 2009 - Malta)

Chaired jointly by Victor P. Debattista and Cristina C. Popescu

Many of the components and processes that play an important role in the formation of galaxies are either dark, obscured or faint. This restricts our ability to test theories and models. This meeting aimed to bring together researchers in galaxy formation to address some of these challenges.

National Astronomy Meeting 2007 (16-20 Apr 2007)

The JHI at UCLan is to host the RAS/PPARC National Astronomy Meeting in 2007 April.

Alongside the National Astronomy Meeting, we are also hosting the UK Solar Physics and the MIST annual meetings

RAS Meeting: The Future of Computational and Theoretical Astrophysics in the UK (13 Oct 2006)

Professor Brad Gibson lead the organisation of this meeting which took place in London.

PPARC Summer School: Energy Flow from the Sun to the Earth (4-8 Sept 2006)

Prof. Robert Walsh organised this meeting, bringing together new PhD students in the solar and solar-terrestrial areas.
