Conference Excursion

The conference excursion will take place on Wednesday 14th September starting at 2pm. After lunch, a coach will take conference delegates from the Low Wood Bay Hotel to Holehird Gardens, which is the home of the local horticurtural society in the Lake District. The gardens at Holehird are 17 acres in size and are set into the hillside. A guided tour from a local expert has been arranged who will provide infomation about the large variety of plants, trees and flowers. Otherwise, delegates are free to explore the Holehird gardens themselves.

After a couple of hours, the coach will take delegates into the local town of Windermere, where they can explore. There will also be a short walk available for those who wish to see Lake Windermere from above, but this will depend on the weather. The excursion is intended to be open-ennded with no fixed end time. Delegates are free to stay in Windermere for their evening meal if they wish to, but a coach will be available to take delegates back to the Low Wood Bay Hotel at approximately 6pm.

The Lake District is a beautiful and green part of the English countryside, with lots of hills and bodies of water. Conference delegates are advised to bring a waterproof coat (etc) and appropriate footwear if they wish to explore the countryside during their visit.

More details about the activities available on the Wednesday afternoon excursion will be available at the start of the conference.
