How to get to Preston

Manchester international airport is the best entry point. Alternatively, use any London or other UK airport or seaport, and travel to Preston by road or rail.

Manchester Airport has its own rail station, with direct trains to Preston: 2 trains per hour from 07h to 21h, then approx 1 train per 2 hours throughout the night, 7 days per week. Rail cost: approx 13 UKP return (no advance reservations necessary). Train takes about 1 hour.

All the usual hire cars are available at Manchester Airport. Driving on continuous motorway (toll-free) from the airport to Preston takes typically 45 mins. Use the M56 then M6.

Central London is connected by fast direct train to Preston, approx 1 train/hour. Costs vary amazingly from a very cheap 25 UKP return (standard class, booked at least 2 weeks in advance) to a ridiculous 268 UKP return (first class, peak-time travel without prior reservation). If driving, use the M1 then M6.

Train time tables can be found at Railtrack, or phone +44-8457-484950
Insert "Manchester Airport" as the starting station and "Preston" as the destination station, along with the appropriate times.
