Welcome to the webpage of Caroline Alexander
I'm a 3rd year PhD student at UCLan studying Solar Physics. My main research interests are loop structures on the corona. I study both large and small-scale loops with solar satellites such as SoHO, Hinode, STEREO and SDO in order to study their evolution.
My research interests involve using multi-instrument observations of coronal features in order to measure plasma parameters such as temperature and density. I have studied coronal loops, X-ray bright points, coronal holes, prominences and flux emergence during my PhD.
I completed a BSc in Astrophysics at the University of Edinburgh in 2007 and went on to do a one-year MSc in Space Science at UCL. From there I decided to continue my studies by doing a PhD at UCLAN where I work with my supervisors Dr Robert Walsh, Dr Barbara Bromage and Dr Silvia Dalla.
