The project is to develop software to use VR equipment to engage with atomic and molecular resolution data, so that the user can walk or fly through the nanoworld, like Ant Man, but a million times smaller… At UCLan we have the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. These can use the Unreal 4 engine, which is freely available to developers, so it is anticipated that this is the platform candidates will choose, though they are free to use any resources available.
