The Alston Observatory is principally a resource for undergraduate teaching, public outreach and astronomical research. Activities primarily related to it’s core activities of teaching astrophysics, including our extensive public outreach activities, are provided without charge.
However, given the excellent facilities available at Alston (fully equipped computer/classroom/lecture space/planetarium/telescopes), and quiet location nestled in a picturesque corner of the Ribble valley, we are aware that outside groups may wish to make use of the facility for other activities.
If you are interested in hiring the observatory for activities such as team building events, team away days, CPD training sessions, writing retreats, or specialised training events please get in touch to discuss how we might be able to help. We can be contacted at alstonobservatory@uclan.ac.uk.
