Applying Astronomical Technology to the Real World (MSc)

This project area (multiple projects are possible) will take modern astronomical technology and techniques and apply them to real world problems. Possible examples of problems include characterising satellites and space debris, or detecting and tracking airborne threats like drones and UAVs. Possible components of the work (exact project dependent) could include 3D design and fabrication of prototypes (using 3D printers), building and testing real world hardware, training Machine Learning models to interpret data, and interfacing hardware and control software.
