Science 101 for policymakers

Supervisor: Dr Megan Argo

Politicians speaking on science and science-related topics often display a shocking lack of knowledge of basic scientific concepts, and a lack of understanding of how the scientific process operates.  The aim of this project is to design a short course for newly-elected politicians with no science training, to give them the tools to better understand important scientific and technological issues that are (or will potentially be) of huge impact to society.  This project would be suitable for a student considering a career in education, or with relevant experience, and would involve designing learning outcomes, choosing appropriate delivery methods, selecting appropriate pedagogies, and designing suitable assessments.
